News broke this weekend that the father of adorable Slumdog Millionaire actress, Rubina Ali, tried to sell her for the amount of $300,000.
Rafiq Qureshi apparently told News Of The World that he would sell the girl to a wealthy couple (more than likely Brad and Angelina) because he had to take care of the rest of his family. “I have to consider what’s best for me, my family, and Rubina’s future.” NOTW set up a meeting in Dubai with wealthy buyers.
NOTW also claim that Rubina's uncle upped the price from $75,000 to $300,00 because she's famous, he said "The child is special now. This is not an ordinary child. This is an Oscar child!"
After the story broke the family denied any of this happened, Rafiq told People the whole thing was a "lie made up by foreign journalists playing games with me" and that he was never going to give her up. He said he was merely being polite to the couple who claimed they were desperate for a child.
