The 2009 Oscars

So last night was the Oscars and although I'm reading mixed reviews about the show and Hugh Jackman's hosting I thought it was great. I didn't find it boring at all, it was clear that Jackman's an entertainer and he definitely brought entertainment to the show. He should have won an Oscar just for being so hot.

All that aside it is still the Oscars so we will have to sit through awards for Sound Mixing and 5.2 minute documentaries but hey an acceptance speech is an acceptance speech. I like watching people win even if I fast forwarded the nominee's being read.

Ben Stiller coming out as Joaquin Phoenix circa his David Letterman appearance was greatness. Not something you would expect to see at the Oscars.

Kate Winslet winning, it was her time.

Jennifer Aniston and Jack Black presenting the animated categories, the thoughts that must have been running through her head...one will never know.

The camera shot over to Angelina during one of their jokes and she was lucky as hell she was laughing because she would never have lived it down if she wasn't.

Heath Ledger's family accepting the award on his behalf was amazing, they were so poised and gracious, they remained composed but still managed to show genuine gratitude. They dedicated the award to Matilda of course.

Arrivals are coming up...
