There's been some controversy about Chris Brown's nominations for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. Some say he should not be eligible and some say he should be rewarded for his musical talents.
Either way Chris has pulled out of the running on his own.
“Chris very much appreciates the support of his fans and the honor they have
paid him in the way of nominations for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song.
Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted
the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those
nominated. While Chris would like to speak to his fans directly about this and
other issues, pending legal proceedings preclude his doing so at this time. Once
the matter before him has been resolved, he intends to do so.”
I don't really know how I feel about this. He made hits and should be rewarded for them but since it's a kids show I think it looks bad to be celebrating a woman beater.

Since the kids nominated him, i think it's only fair that he stay in. but i don't think his endorsements should keep him around.
all that being said, i'm glad he pulled himself out of the kids choice awards. the last thing he needs right now is publicity about whether or not he should be there....stay out of the lime light, buddy!
I agree he should lay low D however disagree that he should be allowed to be rewarded. He should be shot if anything. PRICK!
I agree with you K. The way this story is playing out in the tabloids and mainstream media makes it out to be more like entertainment, taking away from the seriousness of domestic abuse. I feel sad about the story and disappointed that Rihanna has not taken the opportunity to empower herself and in turn her younger and older fans.
I also think tht she's probably being pressured by Def Jam or whoever else is involved to "not make that big a deal of it as to not ruin his career"...it's disgusting. I could go on for hours about it...oh wait I just did....lol
him being rewarded was a tricky one for me. i think everyone would agree that his career shouldn't move forward after his behaviour (and probably won't), but he was nominated for the award before this happened, and he was nominated by his fans (who i'm sure are ex fans now). anyways, you twisted my arm, i'm on your side, bud - shoot the f'er!!! hahaha

I'm interested to hear what Melissa thinks about all this.........Oh never mind.
