Cuban Restaurant...Not So Hot

Above we have Halle Berry and her babydaddy Gabriel Aubry at the opening of his Cuban Themed restaurant Cafe Fuego in New York in November of 2007.

Yesterday there was a sign posted on the door,

RESTAURANT FOR SALE

They do say the restaurant business will chew you up and spit you out...now he has more time to play daddy.

Seriously doubt it. It's rumored by a former co-worker that the bldg/restaurant is for sale and they are planning to eventually re-open in the Midtown/Hell's Kitchen area. Problems with getting a hard liquor license (true). Also, lower real estate costs, better location, closer to shopping and theatre district and neighborhood celebs.

Hopefully, he doesn't plaster the place w/pix of the kid making money off of it like he did with those tacky article/pix of he and Halle dating in the bathrooms.

Whether he will re-open there etc. don't know, but he will be even busier if that's the case.

Holy shite...look at you all informative...

I hope so, because I don't like seeing people's buisness' go down..it's got to be painful.

Thanks anon :)

Thanks the restaurant opened in November 2006 not November 2007. The NY Magazine article http://nymag.com/daily/food/--mentions him in the past tense?

Will be interesting if he does re-open and does rehire his employees or if the rumor is true that he's up to his eyeballs in debt etc and he didn't buy Halle that expensive eternity bling/matching gold friendship bracelets (bracelets maybe) from Cartier's (real commitment w/him being in NYC, but I guess when you act high-schoolish like the two do that's what you settle for) as well as explaining why she may have been at her lawyer's office a few weeks ago with her manager?

Don't know if it's true if she bought him for Xmas a $150K Benz, still doesn't equal w/the kid and possibly some pieces of jewelry?

This is going to be interesting how this all turns out. Let me know your thoughts.
