Brokebank Mountain

A 12 year old girl and her grandparents are suing the Chicago Board of Education after the girl watched "Brokeback Mountain" at school. The family claim she has suffered "phsycological distress" from the content.

"Turner and her grandparents, Kenneth and LaVerne Richardson, are seeking around $500,000 in damages.
"It is very important to me that my children not be exposed to this," said Kenneth Richardson, Turner's guardian. "The teacher knew she was not supposed to do this
."

People in the states will sue for anything. It's all about the money down there. How much damage can this have really done?

maybe it is over the top a bit but I agree I think it is more about the money then the damage

For sure. I'm sure this kid has seen much worse than this movie.

I agree - I wouldn't be happy if Maya saw this at school - I would however let her watch it with me (when's she's a bit older) but I would want to be there to answer any questions. I wouldn't sue the school though.
