Chinese Switch

Lin Miaoke was as cute as a button while singing the Chinese National Anthem at the Beijing opening ceremonies, you wouldn't know by looking at her but she's a distant relative of Milli Vanilli.
Turns out Lin Miaoke was a stand in because the real singer Yang Peiyi got bumped. Although Yang has the voice she wasn't cute enough to stand up and sing it herself. She was replaced last minute because her teeth were crooked and her face was chubby. Sadly they didn't replace her voice though, just her physically.
It's a tough business kid.

DISGRACEFUL REALLY. THIS WILL BE A HUGE SCANDAL. I TINK THEY ARE BOTH CUTE. CROOKED TEETH AND A CHUBBY FACE IS REALLY CUTE ON A KID.

Yang won't have any self image or self esteem problems. Message: Only the pretty and skinny girls get to do fun things.

Assholes!

But isn't that the message we've all grown up with in the media? It's a matter of the message we get form family and other significant people in our lives.
But it is sad....my 5 year old already talks about weight and appearance and it's not easy to give the proper message when the outside world has such an impact.

I agree with you that it does matter what message you are receiving at home for sure...but this is absurd to me and the wrong message needs to be stopped at some point..
and it's not only a girl thing becasue my guys talk about weight and muscles and "foods that make you fat"..it's crazy..
Dove has the right idea...
