Canadian Writer Rebecca Eckler is claiming that the premise for the new hit movie "Knocked Up" with Katherine Heigl is stolen from her acclaimed book titled...you guessed it..."Knocked Up".
"In a lengthy piece for Maclean's magazine, Eckler details similarities between her book and the film, in which an up-and-coming television reporter gets drunk at a party and then gets pregnant from a one-night stand.
Eckler notes that in her book, she's an up-and-coming newspaper reporter who gets drunk and "knocked up'' after celebrating at her engagement party.
Eckler, a former columnist for the National Post who now writes for The Globe and Mail, says she's hired a U.S. lawyer to go after writer/director Judd Apatow and Universal Pictures."
The only reason I'm posting this is because I read this book and it was GD hilarious. I haven't seen the movie but from the previews I have seen it doesn't seem to be the same story line, although I did not read her article in Mcleans either.
Moral of the story...read the book. It's good.
