VMA 2008- What I thought

Britney Spears was the big winner last night, she took home all three of the awards she was nominated for and did a great job of looking like a star considering she's been fumbling through life for the last two years.

Her acceptance speeches were great, she looked amazing and she didn't perform! That's always a plus right? She was seated with her manager who I assume made sure she attended the proper amount of the after party and hit the hay.

Let her comeback commence!

Christina Augilera gave the worst lip synced performance ever. I actually think Britney did a better job of kepping up with the back track last year when she was high.

It was really disappointing seeing someone who has the voice, put it aside in favour of a flashy dance on stage. Tsk tsk tsk...

She looked great though.

Russell Brand to me would be hilarious at a funeral, he doesn't even have to try and I'm pissing my pants.

Jordin Sparks may not agree though, Brand made a crack about how the Jonas Bothers wear purity rings and has vowed to stay virgins until marriage, even though they could sleep with any woman right now (debatable). He compared it to Superman choosing not to fly and taking the bus instead.

Former American Idol winner Jordin Sparks came out to present not long after and I guess she's on the virgin bandwagon so here's what she had to say.

"I just have one thing to say about promise rings. It's not bad to wear a promise ring, because not everybody – guy or girl – wants to be a slut."

So there you have it! Having premarital sex makes you a slut. Shame on you!

Pink's performance was amazing. She actually sang, imagine that. She took to "the back lot" to give us 'So What' which I have mentioned before, makes me want to head but someone.

This is a strong female with talent and she's not afraid to show it.

Kid rock and Lil' Wayne's performance was awesome. Actually Lil' Wayne in general was great last night. His enthusiasm reminds me of a toddler, the way he walks/runs and smiles all the time. He just looked so happy to be there.

And finally, the most sought after virgins' aka The Jonas Brothers. When their performance began I was expecting the camera to pan over and show Oscar the Grouch telling us that "this song is brought to us by the letter G". But nope the stage opened up and the brothers went into full on rockstar mode. Rockstars in dress pants, bow ties and suspenders.
